book discussion today feb 3rd @ 2pm - Westbank Lib

Join us today Thursday Feb 3rd at 2:00pm at Westbank Library for a discussion of the book “Animal, Vegetable, Miracle” by Barbara Kingsolver (and her husband and daughter) and their web site ……

They manage a full year of eating local and growing their own food – quite inspirational.

Or read this NYT article, and join in the discussion

Thursday March 3rd at 2:00pm, the group will be reviewing the book on sustainability, “Cradle to Cradle” – “the authors McDonough and Braungart explain how products can be designed from the outset so that , after their useful lives, they will provide nourishment for something new”. The Army Corps of Engineers as well as other organizations use this book as a guideline for sustainability planning. “Cradle to Cradle® Certification is a multi-attribute eco-label that assesses a product’s safety to humans and the environment and design for future life cycles…………………”

Ongoing are several wonderful garden related presentations at both libraries, so take advantage of the spring gardening group as well.
