We are changing Green$elf’s regular time to 2:00pm on First Thursdays, still at the Westbank Library.

Join us 2:00pm on Thursday February 3rd at Westbank Library for a discussion of the book “Animal, Vegetable, Miracle” by Barbara Kingsolver (and her husband and daughter) and their web site ……

There are two library copies of the book, and an audio book available for take-out – folks can read ahead or listen to, or just come along and put in their two cents as we go. They manage a full year of eating local and growing their own food – quite inspirational.

Thursday March 3rd at 2:00pm, the group will be reviewing the book on sustainability, “Cradle to Cradle” – “the authors McDonough and Braungart explain how products can be designed from the outset so that , after their useful lives, they will provide nourishment for something new”. The Army Corps of Engineers as well as other organizations use this book as a guideline for sustainability planning. “Cradle to Cradle® Certification is a multi-attribute eco-label that assesses a product’s safety to humans and the environment and design for future life cycles…………………”

There will also be several wonderful garden related presentations at both libraries, so take advantage of the spring gardening group as well.
